How was Japan in reality to what you had imagined before you arrived?

Anime is not only popular among teenagers and young people. Manga books can be found on luggage rack on a train for passengers to read for free.

What were the initial difficulties of adjusting to life in Japan?

Language. The most useful sentence might be 'Sumimasen' in Japanese. The good thing is that the Japanese are always polite and kind and you can usually get some clues based on their expressive faces and gestures.

How would you describe your co-workers during your initial time at work?

Helpful. Questions and discussions are always welcomed even if they are busy all the time.

What work skills and habits have you learned or improved?

Comprehension and independent thinking.

What are the challenging or difficult aspects of your work?

Balance of Speed and Quality. We perform high-quality services where there is zero tolerance for mistakes, although daily work load is quite heavy and time-limited. Efficiency and accuracy are always required at the same time.

What is the most important thing that working at the Firm has taught you about yourself?

Putting yourself in other's shoes. Not only for working for the clients but also for working together with your colleagues. Think about the clients and try to grasp the exact object they would like to communicate. Think about your colleagues and try to be an effective team member.

Do you feel like you're having an impact directly on the clients that you work for?

Yes. We grasp the exact objective the clients are trying to communicate and help the clients to obtain the broadest protection of their intellectual properties through our professional services.

What is the best thing about being part of a global team?

Learning from each other. Our team includes people from different cultures with different academic backgrounds, which make our daily work diverse and challenging.
