Meet Our Talent

Becky Galicha

Computer/EE Technology Specialist

“The most important thing that working at the Firm has taught me about myself is that I can handle critical situations without panicking, or feeling totally helpless.”

How was Japan in reality to what you had imagined before you arrived?

Only a small part of Japanese culture is obsessed with cosplay and anime.

What is the most important thing that working at the Firm has taught you about yourself?

That I can handle critical situations without panicking, or feeling totally helpless.

What work skills and habits have you learned or improved?

I have learned to be extremely mindful of time, and to be always attentive to details.

How would you describe your co-workers?

My co-workers are helpful, and efficient in their tasks. Time management is very important in our team.

Could you share a story from your time with SY that exemplifies our work culture in action?

Whenever we prepare a work product or analysis for a client, it has to ready at least a day before the due date, and always double (even triple) checked.

What were the initial difficulties of adjusting to life in Japan?

The language barrier, definitely. I could not order food if they don't have an English menu or the menu does not have pictures.

When I am not at work, I'm ...

exploring some new part of Japan, or cleaning my apartment.

Do you feel like you're having an impact directly on the clients that you work for?

Yes. There is always daily correspondence from the clients regarding my work product. It is nice to hear if they appreciate my comments and remarks.

I would tell someone just starting their career here at SY to ...

never be afraid or embarrassed to ask questions, but never ask without looking through the material first.
