Meet Our Talent

Greta Mebrano

Accounting/eBilling Assistant

“You need to have the right attitude, be proactive in dealing with issues, and quickly develop a good understanding of the work processes and systems. You need problem-solving skills to provide solutions and support the functions at all levels of the Firm.”

What was the most difficult aspect of adjusting to work and life in Japan initially?

I honestly couldn't think of any. The only difficulty I could think of, was spending long hours at the grocery and still getting the wrong items.

What were your fondest experiences in Japan thus far?

I love travelling locally in Japan. Everything is accessible. My fondest trip to date was visiting Sapporo during winter. The experience was so surreal for me and it made me appreciate and see the beauty of winter.

I am looking forward

to more bike trips, visiting as many Japanese prefectures as possible and more food adventures.

What three verbs best define your experience in Japan thus far?

Excite, discover and learn.

What is the most important thing that working at SY has taught you about yourself?

That I still have a lot to learn.

How would you describe your co-workers during your initial time at work?

Everyone was very friendly. My foreign and Japanese colleagues are always very helpful, extending whatever help they could.

What work skills and habits have you learned or improved from your time here thus far?

Being focused and cautious when checking your work product.

What are the challenging or difficult aspects of your work?

Ensuring that the work product is as error free as practicable.

Can you describe a successful work assignment that was your proudest professional moment thus far?

Suggesting an idea to my team and seeing that it made our work easier.

What advice would you give to entry level recruits?

You need to have the right attitude, be proactive in dealing with issues, and quickly develop a good understanding of the work processes and systems. You need problem-solving skills to provide solutions and support the functions at all levels of the Firm. Last but not least – good communication skills at all levels and resilience to keep pushing even in the face of adversity!
