How were your first few weeks in Japan?
I didn't find many difficulties in adapting myself here as most Japanese are friendly and are willing to help. I have also met friendly colleagues which made my first few weeks in Japan easier.
How did you cope with the stresses of working and living in Japan?
I go traveling in Japan whenever I have time during weekends and national holidays. Appreciating the beautiful Japanese architecture, landscape and scenery relieve all my stresses.
What is your most memorable leisure experience while in Japan?
That would definitely be hanami and momiji. Coming from a city that hardly has any trees, enjoying all the nature scenery around Japan would be no doubt my fondest leisure experience.
When I was not at work, I was .....
I am traveling around Japan.
What did you like most about living in Osaka?
Staying in one of the biggest cities in Japan, everything is just outside your doorstep. There are a large variety of restaurants serving cuisines from all over the world, shopping malls which you can find everything you need and people here are mostly friendly and helpful.
What sort of work did you get and was it challenging?
I get to experience every conceivable kind of technology or matter and find out what great and small companies are doing with their technology. If you love learning about new technologies but don't like doing the lab work associated with it, this job is ideal. I am continuously presented with science or legal challenges. The challenges I face on a regular basis are constantly toughening my capacity to make proper decisions and the result are always rewarding.
What did you like most about your work?
In a close-knit atmosphere with strong camaraderie, I am surrounded with articulate and motivated co-workers. Everyone pulls their own weight and at the firm I always felt supported – whether it was in my own professional development or handling client matters. My basic knowledge was really tested and stretched but my perspectives and knowledge base – both in science and business - has grown greatly.
