Sai Pyae

Biotechnology Specialist

“The best thing about being part of a global team is that I can expand my knowledge and wisdom on modern technology and get a chance to know what is happening in the world of science and technology that we live in.”

How was Osaka in reality to what you had imagined before you started working in Osaka?

Osaka is one of the biggest cities in Japan and I always want to work in a big city for the purpose of having a big network and an easy commute. Osaka does not fail me in those aspects. Good people and good food are a bonus for Osaka.

How would you describe co-workers when you arrived?

Hardworking and persistent people.

Do you feel like you're having an impact directly on the clients that you work for?

Of course, providing advice on the patent matters on to the foreign associate is my job. It is a good feeling when clients appreciate my advice.

When I am not at work, I ...

am going out with friends and traveling to see Japan.

What are the challenging or difficult aspects of your work?

Working as a patent biotech specialist, I need to deal with different technologies and science matters. Attempting to understand the new inventions and providing advice about such inventions to conform to Japanese patent law within a short period might be the most challenging aspect for me.

What is the best thing about being a part of a global team?

The best thing about being part of a global team is that I can expand my knowledge and wisdom on modern technology and get a chance to know what is happening in the world of science and technology that we live in.

I am looking forward to experience ...

I love traveling and love collecting coins. I am looking forward to seeing myself collecting all the souvenir coins with my name from all 47 prefectures of Japan!

What three words describe the Firm best? First in English, then in your mother tongue.

Speed, Quality and Perseverance
အမြန်နှုန်း ၊ အရည်အသွေး ၊ ဇွဲ

What have been your 3 fondest leisure experiences in Japan

I love hanami.
I love momiji.
I cannot get enough of onsen, especially in winter.

What advice would you give to a potential new colleague?

I cannot help but admit that Japanese work-life culture is hard to adapt to. One needs very good adaptability for it. Since you will need to devote most of your time to work, I recommend finding a good hobby to spend your personal time.
