How was living in Osaka in reality to what you had imagined before you arrived?
It wasn’t that much different since I had visited Osaka a few times while living in the Kyushu countryside. If anything, I am pleasantly surprised that I am still able to find a sense of community here with my Osaka neighbors and have been invited to go to local community events with them.
What is the most important thing that working at the Firm has taught you about yourself?
That I can push through and am capable of handling difficult situations. There is a sense of satisfaction looking back on your work and seeing what you overcame.
How would you describe your co-workers?
Hard-working and helpful! Everyone here is doing their best for our Clients, our Firm, and fellow co-workers. They are full of resources, and we support each other every day.
When I am not at work, I ...
an indulging in my hobbies and catching up with friends. With Osaka being such a central place, I also enjoy traveling to places like Kyoto and Nara on my days off when I want to do something different.
What have been your 3 fondest leisure experiences in Japan?
Enjoying the inclusive nightlife with friends, going to a local shrine in my neighborhood on New Year’s Day, and relaxing at Spa World.
I am looking forward to experience
festivals in Osaka! Especially local ones in my community area.
Do you feel like you're having an impact directly on the clients that you work for
Most certainly. The matters we handle are very important to our Clients, and how you reply to the Client can affect their judgement and the route they may decide to go on.
What is the best thing about being a part of a global team?
It really broadens your horizons. You have such an amazing opportunity to learn about different cultures and hear about others’ experiences.
What are the challenging or difficult aspects of your work?
For me, time-management is one of the biggest challenges. There is not as much time as you think you may have. Once I learned how to prioritize my time though, it made things smoother and a better working experience for myself.
What would you say makes someone successful at the Firm; and more specifically, what factors have made you successful at Firm?
Being able to communicate well with others. You and your coworkers all depend on each other, so I believe having a good sense of teamwork is crucial. For me, I think along with having strong communication skills, being adaptable no matter of the situation has helped me in being successful in daily life at work.
