Accounting/eBilling Assistant
What are some of the biggest differences between studying in Japan and working in Japan?
Taking responsibilities as an adult. When I was at university, it's just about me and my academic life, but when I work, I am part of a bigger system, so I must bear in mind to fulfill my responsibilities and perform well as my work does not only affect me but also relates to so many people. Having a steady salary also allows me to live an independent life and do things I wish to as a student like traveling etc.
How was Osaka in reality to what you had imagined before you started working in Osaka?
The food is much better than I expected. Also although I had an impression that Osaka is very crowded, there are not as many people as I thought and traveling on train is not really a hassle, probably because we have different office hours with other companies.
How would you describe your co-workers?
They are very supportive and professional. They gave me very useful instructions and good advice when I first started work and that helped me a lot. They are opened to questions and discussions so we can figure out the best solution for every matter.
When I am not at work, I ...

Absolutely. As part of Accounting team, I feel like our team's work helps the whole business system run smoothly.
What is the best thing about being a part of a global team?
The best thing is that you can learn from each other work ethics. There's always a thing or two to learn from a colleague. I think we benefit from being in such a diverse and dynamic environment, and besides we enjoy each other company.
What are the challenging aspects of your work?
To ensure speed and quality in work. We have many clients and new clients coming up every day, so it's challenging to remember and comply with each requirements and expectation. Sometimes it's a race with time to make the clients satisfied. Plus there are also many changes happening daily, so it's important to learn fast and adapt quickly.
What advice would you give a potential new colleague?
Be observant and keep an open mind for learning new things. Don't be afraid to ask questions and learn from your mistakes. Things can be difficult at first but it will always get better.
