What were the initial difficulties of adjusting to life in Japan?

One of the initial difficulties was the language. Asking for directions and making conversation was difficult in the beginning. But I came to realize that the Japanese are very hospitable and helpful. They would go out of their way to help you despite the language barrier.

How would you describe your co-workers during your initial time at work?

They are dedicated, hard-working and reliable. I am honored to work with such committed individuals. They are always ready to help me when I have questions regarding work and in adapting to my new life here in Japan.

Do you feel like you're having an impact directly on the clients that you work for?

Absolutely. It is fulfilling knowing that we are able to assist our clients achieve their goals through our everyday tasks such as answering their inquiries, giving advice and responding to daily correspondence.

What have been your 3 fondest leisure experiences in Japan?

Riding the bullet train to and from Tokyo
Exploring Tokyo
Exploring Osaka and the different restaurants in the city.

What are the challenging or difficult aspects of your work?

The long work day routine. Time is very important, especially for our clients. Thus, it is inevitable to have long work days to be able to meet the needs and demands of our clients. Despite the long work day routine, it is worth it knowing we are able to help our clients in many ways.

What is the most important thing that working at the firm has taught you about yourself?

Working at the firm has thought to me to practice and embrace speed and quality. We must always work hard to provide fast results without compromising the quality of our work.

What is the best thing about being a part of a global team?

Working with a global team means being able to work with people of different background and cultures. This is a great opportunity to help us not only look at the world in a different perspective, but also learn insights and qualities that would mold us into better individuals.

What advice would you give to newbies?

Ann Landers once said opportunities are usually disguised as hard work. By giving our best in everything, we allow ourselves the opportunity to learn and grow. No matter how small the task at hand is, we must give it all our best.
