Mr. Takatoshi IIDA has more than 10 years of experience providing counsel for technology companies in high stakes patent litigation and invalidation matters. He specializes in the patent protection of companies in key industries such as Automotive, Aerospace, Electronics, Energy, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Medical devices, Semiconductor devices, Software Engineering, Transportation and Telecommunications.

He joined the firm in 2005 after finishing his Master’s Degree in Physics from the University of Tokyo and was admitted to the Japanese Patent Office in 2012 as a Patent Attorney while working in the firm.

Since joining the firm, he assisted the prosecution of patent applications in various fields to mature into over 4000 patents, and successfully assisted in defending over 10 patent invalidation and opposition cases. He also aided global companies with their successful negotiations with Japanese companies.

In recent years, Mr. Iida has also been providing strategic counsel and managing patent portfolios for companies involved in augmented reality and generative AI.
