SY’s Patent Client Wins 2024 Nobel Prize for Chemistry
Dr. David Baker, University of Washington biochemist and professor, was awarded half of the 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his pioneering work “for computational protein design.” According to the Nobel Committee for Chemistry, Dr. Baker’s “research group has produced one imaginative protein creation after another, including proteins that can be used as pharmaceuticals, vaccines, nanomaterials and tiny sensors.”
The Firm is delighted that it represented Dr. Baker, as an inventor, and the University of Washington in Japanese patent matters at the Japan Patent Office over the years. Team SY is glad to play its small part in protecting and serving Nobel Prize winning computational protein design innovations in medicine, biotechnology, chemistry and materials science.
