September 20, 1979: SHUSAKU-YAMAMOTO was founded under the name of “山本秀策特許事務所”. (Chiyoda Daiichi Minamimorimachi,Osaka.)
November 29, 1980: SHUSAKU·YAMAMOTO received its first Japanese patent publication on behalf of its client.
January 13, 1983: SHUSAKU·YAMAMOTO received its first Japanese patent grant.
April 1, 1990: SHUSAKU·YAMAMOTO moved to its new office at Crystal Tower, Osaka Business Park.
October 1, 1996: SHUSAKU·YAMAMOTO received its first litigation win Japan. (HCV diagnostic patent for biotechnology pioneer, Chiron Corporation, against 14 oppositions that were filed against it at the JPO).
June 18, 1999: SHUSAKU·YAMAMOTO’s 10,000th patent application was published by the JPO.
September 20, 1999: SHUSAKU·YAMAMOTO celebrated its 20th anniversary and commissioned “20/20 for the 21st Century” – a collection of 21 articles covering all aspects of IP law to commemorate this anniversary.
October 15, 1999: SHUSAKU·YAMAMOTO obtained its 1000th Japanese trademark registration.
December 12, 2000: Represented the owner of Albert Einstein's posthumous rights of publicity, his name and image in a successful opposition and revocation of an unauthorized Einstein trademark.
December 2003: SHUSAKU·YAMAMOTO opened its second office in Tokyo, Japan.
April 1, 2007: SHUSAKU·YAMAMOTO opened its third office in Fukuoka, Japan.
June 6, 2011: SHUSAKU·YAMAMOTO transitioned from an IP Boutique firm to full service general law firm with broad range of services from multiple practice areas.
March 24, 2014: SHUSAKU·YAMAMOTO moved to its new office at Grant Front Osaka Tower C, Osaka.
October 10, 2018: SHUSAKU·YAMAMOTO opened its fourth office in Fukushima, Japan.
April 16, 2019: SHUSAKU·YAMAMOTO opened its fifth office in Nanjing, China.
SHUSAKU·YAMAMOTO was incorporated as a bengoshi hojin/弁護士法人 under the law and changed its name to “弁護士法人山本特許法律事務所”
June 14, 2023: SHUSAKU•YAMAMOTO Won the “Japan Intellectual Property Law Firm of the Year” Award by Asian Legal Business Japan.
